Meet the SAMW team
Michael Moeti returned to SA from Canada in 2002 after 26 years in exile. He left South Africa when 1976 riots started took up a scholarship in Canada graduating with B.A. and M.A.
Mr Moeti is no stranger to the Music Industry and has been at the forefront of innovation and empowerment in music production, events management, TV/Film Production and publishing almost 30 years.
He is CEO and Founder of Africa Digital Media City (ADMC) Enterprises, an independent black empowered media and entertainment company.
As a business strategist and entrepreneur in the music industry, he has invested in the promotion of local talent since starting his own record labels in Canada (Calabash Records) and South Africa (Township Records) in late 90’s and 2000.
He was instrumental in the launching of many musical careers both here and abroad, particularly in the R&B and Hip-Hop genre.
His instincts for spotting raw talent, forecasting industry innovation and passion for skills development and promotion of the “Afro-beat” is what inspired the creation of South African Music Week (SAMW)
Michael and his team firmly believe that SAMW has the potential to leave a lasting imprint on the industry and become the premium and largest musical event of its kind on the African continent.
TECHNICAL AND DIGITAL DIRECTOR
Gugu Nyoni is software engineer whose integrated solutions in software development and key digital solutions, have impacted significantly on a local and global level. His cutting-edge, cloud-based digital solutions was showcased by South Africa’s Department of Trade and Industry at the China International Import and Export Exhibition in 2018.
As a Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) evangelist and innovator he is responsible for fast-tracking SAMW’s digital transformation.
He is currently doing his Masters’ programme in Developmental Economics at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), SA.
Machake (AKA Jeff) Morake is a music-publishing administrator, events coordinator, film-producer who is passionate about human experiences in the creative sector.
He has worked on various campaigns for corporate clients including music-publishing administration for established international and budding artists.

Jeff’s experience includes Production and Film directing. He was part of a short film titled “FROM MVESO, a Nelson Mandela Day short-documentary film project funded and supported by the South African Airways.
A second documentary film project titled_ “LOETO LA BAFOKENG” _ (Origins of Bafokeng) commissioned and supported by the Royal Bafokeng Nation, was produced and directed between 2014 and 2018 about Origins, Culture, History and Vision of the Royal Bafokeng Nation.
Jeff also consulted for the Department of Water and Sanitation _ Media and Communications, on Community Water Forums and Drought Interventions campaign strategies for the Limpopo Province.

HEAD OF MARKETING
Carenza Van Willingh is the head of marketing for South African Music Week and is no stranger to the music industry
She is a tour de force in Entertainment and Events and has been at the forefront of delivering quality, successful and globally recognised events for more than 20 years.
The only thing that supersedes her personality, is her passion for service excellence and inculcating the same drive in her team. Her creative flair and conceptualized vision have enabled her to craft a recognizable signature that is known worldwide.
Carenza leads the charge from the front, with bold, creative and critical thinking, not only in marketing, but also in communications, graphic design, branding and digital marketing
She in charge of molding, elevating, and unleashing South African Music Week into the hearts and minds of audiences locally and abroad.
VIDEO CONTENT PRODUCER
Nkosana is the founder of 5K Creative Design Studio, a creative digital media company based in Johannesburg.
A specialist videographer, photographer, art director and graphic designer and has collaborated with some of the top local brands in music, fashion and media such as Bonaqua, Cadbury FC, House of Vans JHB and many more.
TECH AND GRAPHICS SUPPORT
Mlondolozi is a Technical Consultant and Information Technology professional with a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Certification from CTU Training Solutions.
He is also Computer Engineer and Graphic designer with experience in Customer Service, Technical Support, Retail and Apple Software.
He has highly integrated industry skills with experience in Motion Graphics, Video Graphics and Editing, Graphic Design and Animation
MEDIA CONTENT PRODUCER
Lwazi Nonyukela is an established producer and promoter on the South African music scene. He has extensive experience in film and music production working with local and international brands such as, Telkom, Sportscene, the Nonnie, KFC, Idols, Ciroc, Coca Cola and Vans amongst others.
As an Innovative content producer, he acts decisively to create material for new and old media that is current with latest trends. It is his unique understanding of current trends within the industry that earned him gold and platinum award-winning status as Producer for the music track “Sondela”
